A BOUTIQUE GEOLOGICAL CONSULTANCY
Founded by Dr Darren Ferdinando, Basin Science is experienced in all stages of the upstream oil and gas cycle, from exploration to appraisal to development, including QA/QC reviews.
Providing geological services, including regional play mapping, new play identification, sequence stratigraphic interpretation, prospect generation and assessment, and seismic mapping and interpretation from the regional to small scale.
With over 25 years’ experience in exploring and developing the oil and gas potential of the Perth Basin we have recently completed comprehensive multi-client play-based analyses of the northern Perth Basin and Vulcan Sub-basin.

Vulcan Basin Play Analysis
With a coverage of nearly 40,000km2 over the offshore Vulcan Sub-basin, analysing 22 play intervals in over 150 exploration wells this is the definitive multi-client exploration package for the Vulcan Sub-basin.
The ArcGIS Pro package conatins well post-mortems on a play-by-play basis and over 150 play maps for every play interval including: gross depositional environment, reservoir presence, reservoir effectiveness, top seal and trap presence, and hydrocarbon migration and timing. Additionally, every identified source rock interval has play maps for source presence and maturity.
